About Danny Ward

Danny grew up in Bremerton, Washington, were he played his first gig at the age of 13 with a group called “The Rhythm Rockets”. He went on to earn a degree in music at Central Washington University, all the while performing as well. Ward is an innovator of jazz and funky, up-tempo tunes and has played with such musical greats as B.B. King, Lou Rawls, and Richie “Alto Madness” Cole.

Performing as a single for eight years now, Danny still leads his band when the occasion calls for it.  Ward was featured saxophonist in the movie, “An Officer and a Gentlemen”. He has been performing as a single for over eight years and has been enthusiastically received wherever he plays. He can gear a performance to a variety of situations ranging from soft, background “dinner” music for intimate get-togethers to more up-tempo tunes for parties, wedding receptions, and the like.

Danny was invited to play with Diane Shure at the Blue Note in New York City. As he says: “Just going to the Blue Note is wonderful, playing there is like a dream come true”.
